Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 June 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Chura platform. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
The service
Chura provides a platform to distribute airtime to one or many recipients across supported Kenyan mobile networks, together with funding, reporting, receipts and team-governance tools.
Airtime distribution is delivered through third-party mobile network operators (Safaricom, Airtel and Telkom). Chura does not control their networks, and the availability, speed and successful delivery of any top-up depends on the relevant operator’s systems being online and operational. Outages, maintenance, congestion or restrictions on an operator’s side may delay or prevent delivery, and these events are outside Chura’s control.
Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your log-in details and transaction PIN confidential.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of recipient lists and amounts you submit.
- You must use the service lawfully and not for fraudulent, abusive or prohibited purposes.
- You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account, whether or not you authorised it. Chura accepts no responsibility or liability for any misuse or abuse of your account, including activity by anyone you have granted access to.
Funding and payments
- You fund your account via M-Pesa or bank transfer before distributing airtime.
- Bank-funded credits may take from 5 minutes up to 2 working days to reflect depending on the transfer method.
- Once airtime is successfully delivered by the operator, the transaction cannot be reversed.
All information relating to your recipient lists — phone numbers, names, amounts and any notes — is private and accessible only to you and the authorised members of your organisation. We treat this data as confidential and apply access controls so that no other customer can view it.
Availability and liability
We work to keep the platform available and reliable, but delivery of airtime depends on third-party mobile network operators and payment providers. To the extent permitted by law, Chura is not liable for delays or failures caused by these third parties, or for losses outside our reasonable control.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a revised date, and significant changes will be communicated to you.
